Billy Louese Hudgins

Billy Louese Hudgins, 92, former Whitesboro and Gainesville resident, died Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Brookdale Willows Assisted Living & Memory Care in Sherman, TX. The family received friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, 602 S. Lindsay St., Gainesville, TX 76240. A funeral service was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21 at the funeral home. A committal service followed around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague, TX. Louese was born in Throckmorton, TX and graduated from Throckmorton High School. She attended the University of North Texas for her freshman year and worked for an insurance company in Fort Worth. She met her husband, Don Hudgins, while he was working for the Haliburton Company and they had a Necchi Sewing Center in Gainesville, where she did monogramming, had a gift shop, and sold used books. Louese loved to read. The couple had one son, Don Jr., born August 22, 1952. Louese was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gordonville after they built a family home outside Whitesboro. Louese was preceded in death by: parents Bill Timmons and Mabel (Talley) White; husband Don Hudgins Sr.; son, Don Hudgins Jr.; and close friend Earlene Hayes. Survivors include: cousin Sharon Bischofshausen of Pflugerville; cousin Tami Talley of Graham; granddaughter Rachel Marmon of Krum; eight cousins from Louisiana; and close family friend Karen Bowling of Denison. Louese was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. She had a heart of gold - ready to help anyone in need. Her sense of humor endeared her to all who were blessed to know her. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all. The family and loved ones would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Willows and Concord Hospice Care, both in Sherman, TX, for the truly amazing love and care they provided our Louese during her residence at Brookdale Willows.
