Ricky Lee Johnson Curtis, February 22, 1945 - January 11, 2023

Ricky Lee Johnson Curtis passed away on January 11, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona. She was born to Wilburn and Edmee (E.D.) Johnson on February 22, 1945 in Olney, Texas. Ricky lived in Elbert, Texas, attended Elbert School and was a member of Elbert Baptist Church, where her father was a song leader. The Elbert School consolidated with Throckmorton School when Ricky was in the 6th grade. She graduated in 1963 as Salutatorian and attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Ricky met and married Ron Carnes and moved to Oklahoma City in 1970. Ricky lived in Oklahoma from 1970-2002. She met Pat Patterson and married in 1980. Ricky was an award-winning National Sales Manager for McBee Systems. She retired early in 1986 due to the impact of a brain tumor, which affected the rest of her life. Ricky loved southwest art and enjoyed collecting rocks and minerals. She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2022 to be closer to her son Heath Carnes and two grandchildren and remained there until her passing in January of 2023. Survivors are her only son Heath Rey and wife Pam, grandchildren Kaitlin and Dylan; Brother: Rhett (Sharon), Van (Margie) both of Granbury, TX and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial service for Ricky will be May 6th in Elbert Baptist Church, Elbert, TX at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be after service at the church
