Tom Hudson, 89, of Throckmorton, TX, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023. A funeral service was held Monday, May 15, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton, TX, with Bro. Jeremy Smith officiating. Burial followed the service at the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation was planned from 6:00 to 7:00PM, Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the funeral home, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, TX. Doyle Thomas Hudson a U.S. Army Veteran, was born November 14, 1933, in Lamesa, TX, to Lillian (Coon) and T.J. Hudson. He was married by his brother Jim to Geniva (Mayers) on April 26, 1956 in Throckmorton. They lived in Throckmorton on and off for 67 years and were members of the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton. He was an outstanding all state athlete at Throckmorton. He played football at Ranger Junior College and served at Fort Knox Army Base where he also played football. He loved his family and spending time at the farm. He liked to go camping as soon as the crops were done. He loved his travel trailer and going on adventures.

He is survived by his daughter, Gay Hibbitts and husband Pat of Woodson; his son, Tom Hudson and wife Sue of Malvern, Ohio; three grandsons, Ty Raynes and wife Megan of Abilene, Brady Hibbitts and wife Haley of Springtown, Josh Hudson and wife Jaycee of Carrollton, Ohio; two granddaughters, Allie Delaney and husband Patrick of Throckmorton, Elizabeth Hudson and fiancé Dakota Sullivan of Louisville, Ohio; five great-granddaughters, Gwyn Raynes of Abilene, Avery Hudson of Carrollton, Ohio, Haddy Hibbitts of Springtown, Brelynn Hudson of Carrollton, Ohio, Charley Hudson of Carrollton, Ohio; three brothers, Glenn Hudson of Throckmorton, Jim Hudson of Commerce, and Donald Ray Hudson of Seymour. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and T.J. Hudson; wife, Geniva Hudson; son, Brent Hudson; grandson, Blake Hudson and numerous brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made in Tom’s name to: American Cancer Society, and either Woodson or Throckmorton Volunteer Fire Department.
